GOD BLESS YOU
When we use the phrase "God bless you," we have to ask ourselves, what are we really saying?
Does God want Christians to be blessed? Let's look at the scriptures:
John 10:10
The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more ABUNDANTLY.
This verse clearly shows us Jesus came to give us life in abundance. The word abundantly means: Superabundant (in quantity) or superior (in quality). The implication is excessive and beyond measure. To have more, to have enough and to spare, increase, a surplus!
3 John 2 tells us that above all things God desires that His children prosper and be in health, even as their soul prospers.
Proverbs 10:22 says that God's blessing for believers makes them rich and adds no sorrow to it. That means He doesn't add misery, poverty or sadness along with the blessing!
In Deuteronomy 11:21, God says that if we obey His command, He promises long life for us and our children. In addition, He says that our days can be like the days of heaven UPON THE EARTH!
Let's take this verse and compare it with another scripture:
Psalm 23:5
You prepare A TABLE before me IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES: You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
Now, we need to ask ourselves this question: "Are there enemies in heaven?" You'd probably say, "Of course not!" So then where are the enemies? There's only one place they can be and that's down here on the earth. Fear, poverty, lack, want, sickness and disease are a few examples of our enemies.
God is a good Father who has prepared a table for us ON THIS EARTH full of good things to enjoy. His table includes healing, prosperity, peace, wisdom, joy, love and so much more! All we've got to do is thank Him everyday for these benefits and walk in His Word daily.
In conclusion, understand that Jesus loves you and wants you to enjoy life. Second, He loves others and wants you to be a channel so that He can bless them through you.
